CMW Basic Consulting – 30 min Session

The CMW team can assist you with:

• Ceramic Glaze and Clay Development: Our team can guide you how to make your own glazes and clay to create your own based on your individual needs and process. We will point you in the right direction on color, texture, durability and material selection.
• Ceramic Material Substitutions: Our team can help you to navigate the ever changing ceramic materials landscape and offer solutions for materials that are no longer available or how to use your local sources.
• Troubleshooting Ceramic Flaws: Our team can help identify and makes suggestions of how to fix issues with glaze and clay defects.  Pinholing, crazing, dunting, bloating, spawling, shivering, crawling…we’ve seen them all!  We can review your recipe, materials, firing cycles to identify flaws and suggest solutions of how to correct them.
• Ceramic Resources:  Our team has the support of our online ceramic education courses and resources.  We can show you how to use our UMF calculators, Commercial clay body profiling data, Courses and Workshops to continue your ceramics testing and make your work the best that it can be.  

How does our 1-on-1 Consulting work?

• We currently have 30 Minute Sessions available. Cost:  $100.
• Sessions are available weekdays; Monday - Friday between 9am and 5pm EST (NYC time). 
• After purchase, a team member will reach out to schedule a date and time to do a video call via Google Meet .  A meeting link will be provided once it is scheduled.  Phone calls are also available if you prefer not to do a video call.

To get the most out of your session…

Please come prepared in order to maximize your time!  We will want to know everything about your making process.  What’s your glaze recipe, available materials, clay body, firing temperature, type of application, application method, testing data, etc…

Some guidelines…

When purchasing a session with us, you are agreeing to our basic consultation terms as noted below:

1. Our 1-on-1 basic consulting sessions are designed to help point you in the right direction to either where you can learn more or what we think would be the best way for you to proceed.  We will not do any research or testing on your behalf.  Any next step suggestions by our team will be up to you to pursue.
2. Our team’s time is valuable.  Meetings will end at the end of the scheduled session time.  Sessions can include any topics that you would like to discuss within what we define as “reasonable limits”.  If the session exceeds the scheduled ending time, we will bill the additional time to you.
3. Contact is over Google Meet or phone.  We try to maintain normal business hours, so our sessions are scheduled during business hours in the US eastern time zone (Monday-Friday 9-5pm EST/NYC).
4. Please allow up to 24 -36 hours to receive a response to schedule your session.  It may take a bit for us to get back to you, but we will get back to you. 
5. We will not discuss or disclose the work of other consulting clients or CMW students.
