The Megan Whetstine Memorial Scholarship

In loving memory of our valued colleague and friend, Megan Whetstine, Ceramic Materials Workshop is honored to establish this memorial scholarship. Megan was a vital part of our team, and her dedication, passion, and spirit brightened our community. This scholarship seeks to carry forward her legacy by investing in the growth of other devoted ceramic artists.

Our mission with this scholarship is to support an emerging artist who is at a crucial stage in their development—transitioning from passionate practice to a sustainable, lifelong profession. We aim to provide a pivotal learning opportunity for an individual dedicated to deepening their technical and material knowledge, empowering them to achieve new heights in their work.

Who Should Apply?
This scholarship is intended for a dedicated ceramic artist who is ready to make a significant leap in their professional journey.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 3-5 years of consistent and dedicated practice in ceramics.
  • Demonstrates a clear intention to pursue ceramics as a long-term profession.
  • Is at a point in their career where a deeper understanding of ceramic materials would have a transformative impact on their work.
  • Exhibits a strong and enthusiastic desire to learn, grow, and contribute to the ceramics community.

What the Scholarship Provides: The recipient will be awarded full tuition for an online Ceramic Materials Workshop Full Experience Course of their choice. This opportunity will provide the artist with the comprehensive knowledge and confidence needed to master their materials and elevate their craft.

How to Apply:  Application Deadline: October 15, 2025.

Applicants should submit the following materials in a single PDF document to info@ceramicmaterialsworkshop.com :

  1. Letter of Intent (1-2 pages): Please tell us about your journey in ceramics, your professional ambitions, and why this scholarship would be meaningful for you at this specific point in your career. What do you hope to learn and how will it impact your work?
  2. Resume or CV: Outline your experience in the ceramics field, including any relevant education, exhibitions, work history, or residencies.
  3. Portfolio: A selection of 5-10 images of your best and most recent work. Please include titles, dimensions, materials, and year of completion for each piece.

Recipient of the scholarship will be notified by December 31, 2025 and will be enrolled and complete the course in 2026.
